Dr. Wm. Drew Mountcastle’s new book Make Up Your Mind (Xulon Press paperback $15.49) was written for Christians who struggle to fully integrate faith and life need to challenge their assumptions to change their lives and relationships.
It’s not enough just to alter behavior, which leads to hypocrisy and failure; people of faith need to have a radical change of core convictions to guide thinking, emotions, and action. Make Up Your Mind shows readers how to change from secular guiding principles of life into workable, Biblically-guided principles, lifestyle, and relationships. Christian believers struggle to be distinct in thinking and living and know practically how to make it all work.
Pastor Drew says, “This book integrates Biblical faith with psychological concepts and strategies to consistently live faith in healthy, real-time life and relationships. I have training and experience in professional counseling in hospital and private practice settings and in pastoral ministry in urban, suburban, and rural settings over the course of the past 37 years. The book is the result of that professional and personal experience.”
Pastor Drew was formerly Program Therapist and Clinical Coordinator for Rapha (a Christ-centered, hospital-based mental health and addictions program), counseling consultant to New Beginnings Ministries in Chino, CA, and is an ordained minister in the Free Methodist Church. He is currently lead pastor of Uniontown Free Methodist Church in Uniontown, PA. He holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in Religion, as well as Counseling (specializing in Mental Health Eating Disorders and Addictions), and the Doctor of Ministry degree from Regent University. He co-authored Overcoming Eating Disorders (A Rapha recovery book), with Robert S. McGee (author of The Search for Significance). Since 1979 he has been married to his high school sweetheart, Emily.
